Judith Guthrie - Giving Teams the Tools to Grow
Judith Guthrie brings a unique perspective to scent work, combining her background in professional detection with years of judging, teaching, and competing. She is known for making the invisible visible and uncovering the why — turning confusion into clarity and giving teams tools to grow.
Judith uses her knowledge of odor to design training that builds confidence, strengthens problem-solving, and prepares teams for success. She also helps handlers understand how body language and handler behavior shape the search, building more effective teamwork. She coaches across the U.S. through seminars and private sessions, teaches online through Scent Work University, and shares practical insights in her monthly Nose Dogs Newsletter.
At her seminars, Judith brings together her detection work, judging, and teaching experience with a clear, straightforward style. She communicates complex concepts in ways participants can understand and apply. Most of all, they leave more confident, more competitive, and better able to enjoy everything the sport has to offer.
Past Events
Teams stepped up to the start line to search 12 boxes for the one containing the target odor, either Birch, Anise, or Clove. At the end of the day, 5 teams successfully found odor and earned the chance to compete in future competitive events through the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW).
